Candlelight

Finding the Bright Ones

Candlelight is an app that helps companies to hire better, especially those who are looking for creative and technical professionals. It's a mini recruiting team in a box that simplifies and improves the process of getting to know your future developers and designers.

The best person you can hire is someone you have worked with personally, but our current recruiting tools and processes are overly-complex and cold machines that are designed for genercism and volume. Recruiting top creative and technical problem solvers is a unique problem but we believe that you can find the perfect fit by engaging their hacky creative side early.

Design

Origination

We built the app originally out of frustration of interviewing candidates who did not have competent programming/design skills, but also out of all the great and bad experiences we had interviewing at other companies.

Sometimes we wondered why someone with no programming ability would apply to a job that required you to program, and other times we interviewed people who were fountains of awesome and their technical depth and personality showed clearly through solving a simple but interesting problem.

When we went out to interview, we found it to be an amazing experience with a good company; it was an opportunity for personal growth, sharpening your skills and getting to know new and interesting people.

We also talked to alot of small and large companies and found that the software people used was clunky, complicated and are generally tools designed to keep track of alot of candidates instead helping you find just the right one.
